Bill J Edwards aka Billy Gates

Born in South Carolina and raised in the Bronx, New York, Bill’s journey into photography ignited during high school when his teacher introduced him to the captivating world of sports photography. With each click of the camera, Bill felt an indescribable sense of gratification that solidified his love for the art.

In 2011, after the birth of his son, he took a monumental step and founded The Eye Of Gates Photography, initially focusing on documenting his son’s milestones. This pursuit evolved from a mere hobby to a defining passion, shaping Bill’s lifestyle.

In 2018, amidst his photography ventures, Bill dedicated his time to a noble cause. He traveled to Panama, channeling his passion for activism to assist children within the community. Through his efforts, he provided invaluable support and coordinated donations, showcasing his commitment to making a positive impact beyond the lens.

Building on his experiences, Bill relocated to the DMV in 2021, expanding his creative horizons and enriching his journey. In 2023, his dedication and skill earned him the prestigious role of an Arc’teryx ambassador, marking a significant milestone in his thriving career as a photographer and philanthropist.
